Living Fuels has been working alongside Dudley Climate Change to reward Dudley’s eco-warriors. In its second year, Energy Heroes promotesreducing both using energy and carbon emissions and rewards those across the county that have made outstanding contributions.

There are two categories for the Energy Awards; Community and Business. The former includes schools, households and community/voluntary groups. The business section is open to private sector businesses and enterprises.

Operations director, Rob Murphy said of the awards: “This is a brilliant opportunity for the people of Dudley to be rewarded for all their hard work through recycling. We are proud to be able to recognise those who wish to help the environment. We hope that other areas will see the great standard Dudley is setting and will follow in their footsteps.”

Last year’s winners included Dawley Primary School for its cutting edge new boiler system and, The Beacon Centre for the Blind, for its innovative new building with solar panels and motion sensitive lights
