CHP and WCO: Power Source for the Future
By using Waste Cooking Oil (WCO) as a source for Combined Heating and Power (CHP) can produce energy and heat simultaneously, therefore reducing the effect of power generation on the environment.
For each 100KWh of power that is produced by a coal power station, 165KWh of energy are lost in the process. Combined with a separate source for heat, 160KWh of heat will create a loss of 40KWh.
Using a CHP method of producing power and heat simultaneously, the losses are a lot easier to live with. For every 100KWh of power and 160KWh of heat the loss of energy only amounts to 65KWh.
We think you'll agree that those numbers are a lot better! With your help we can make a change to the way in which we create our energy using renewable resources that are carbon neutral.
